It is generally believed that Arjun was jealous of Eklavya.

It is also believed that due to this reason only Arjun conveyed to his Gurudeva Sree Dronacharya that Eklavya wanted to prove his personal accomplishment rather than the attaining the education through a Vedic system i.e. from a Guru.

 

However it is not fact.

 

In reality, had Arjun not highlighted this opinion, it would have become a practice to attain the education from the Guru impersonally and such a person can be glorified.

 

Had this been acceptable then the people would have never taken shelter of a Gurudev and contrarily followed a practice of a lifeless statue of Gurudeva as per their own free will to attain the said education, thereby establishing the Atheist Doctrine.

 

In fact, by this action Arjuna proved that he was not jealous for Eklavya but was compassionate towards him as well as towards other living beings of the whole world.
