How To Conquer The Mind?

In Shrimad Bhagavad Gita , Arjuna tells Lord Krishna that the mind is very fickle, stubborn and extremely powerful.

Now the question is how to conquer the mind?

It is necessary to win the mind or else the student will not be able to complete the studies, the player will not be able to play in the playground, the businessman will not be able to do successful business, the housewife will not be able to run the house in an efficient manner.

For example- Like a student is sitting in a school class listening to a lecture from a teacher. While listening, he remembered that he forgot to wake father up before coming to school. If mother comes back, who will open the door of the house? There will be a big ruckus.

Now as long as that student’s thinking remains in the house, till that time , he will not know what the teacher is saying. If the teacher asks him what was she talking about, he will not be able to tell. Although his body was in the same school, the ears were listening to the teacher’s voice, the eyes were looking at the teacher but because the mind was not there, all the senses were not able to do their work properly. That is why the mind is said to be very strong.

Only God tells the remedy for this.

Lord Krishna says that the mind is stronger than the senses in the body. The intellect is stronger than the mind, if a person is determined to do something with the intellect and keeps practicing it, then it becomes easy to operate the mind.
