Exalted devotional state

Once upon a time Sree Chaitanya Mahaprabhu went to South India. During His travels, He met a Brahmin Sree Ramdas Vipra.

Sree Ramdas Vipra invited Sree Mahaprabhu for prasadam. When He sat down to honour prasadam, He was made to wait till prasadam arrived. When some time had passed Sree Mahaprabhu inquired politely about the whereabouts of prasadam.

The Brahmin replied that Sree Lakshman has just gone to collect fruits, flowers, roots etc. Prasad will be arranged as soon as he comes back.

Supreme Lord Sree Chaitanya Mahaprabhu observed that the Brahmin was engrossed in the pastimes of Supreme Lord Sree Ram Chandra ji.

After considerable time has passed, Sree Mahaprabhu ji inquired politely from the bahmin, if Sree Lakshman has returned?

The Brahmin said, “How do I cook? Ravana has abducted Srimati Sita Devi! I have to help Sree Ram ji to bring back Srimati Sita Devi.” How do I cook and take the prasad?”

After saying these words the Vipra started crying.

Sri Mahaprabhu ji observing his exalted state of devotion, assured him that Ravana can never abduct Srimati Sita Devi. This is not possible and Ravana has only abducted Maya Sita or Chhaya Sita.

In this way Sree Mahaprabhu ji consoled Sree Ramdas Vipra. Later on Sree Chaitanya Mahaprabhu ji gave the Kurma Purana to the brahmin, while going back to Sree Jagannath Puri from South India. The Kurma Purana mentions this pastime of Sree Ram in detail.

Sree Mahaprabhu ji was very pleased to see his sincerity and devotion.
